Why should I want credit card points?

You earn credit card points just for spending on a card. These points can then be redeemed for travel, hotel stays, or even straight cash.

Take the Amex Platinum card, for example. Amex regularly offers people 150K points for just signing up for the card. Redeeming these at 1 cent per point nets you $1,500 just for signing up.
